Through the teachings of Trauma Sensitive Mindfulness, Somatic Experiencing, and current findings in Neuroscience, we will explore the unpredictable nature of emotions and how to navigate challenges in the classroom and in relationships by choosing skillful responses, rather than defaulting to habitual reactivity. With an emphasis on cultivating presence in response to the reality that arises in any moment, we explore practices that support awareness, creating further equanimity as we learn tools to calm the nervous system, and to foster the possibility for joyful connection.
