Writing Against Erasure
‘Early on, in my childhood as a Palestinian citizen of Israel, there was an unconscious realization that there were two histories -- an official history full of lies that one has to memorize to pass the exams and our history that was passed on to us at home and contradicted the official narrative about our lives.
