Museum of Who We Are

Museum of Who We Are

“This activity invites students to explore or create an exhibit of artifacts – images, quotations, short bits of audio or video, statistics, etc -- related to one or several big ideas. When we visit a museum, we don’t look at or give the same attention to every piece of art: we follow our interests. The intention is self-directed exposure, not heavy immersion. We call this “The Museum of Who We Are” because we want students to see themselves as one valued voice in the ongoing conversation of humanity and to understand that all learning is about connecting who they are and what they know to other people’s existing knowledge.”
