Identity
Identity is a complex collection of ideas – our gender, our ethnicity, our citizenship, our faith, our likes and dislikes, our temperament. Too often we see others only in terms of their group identity: He’s black, she’s white, they're Muslims, they’re gay. Yet research shows that when we view people as individuals, we feel less threatened by those who have different group identities than ours. How can we learn from our differences and find communities where we don’t feel limited?
